Vintage Mid Century Modern Table Sculpture of Ballerina by DL. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself. What a beautiful wood carved Ballerina here. The wood carving is done in a beautifully grained wood, not sure what type of wood it is. Great detailing to the Ballerina and the base. Beautiful wood graining on this carved wood figure. The maker’s mark Is DL in script, not sure whom it stands for. Some finish loss to the lacquer on the wood, still looks good. The Carved Wood Ballerina is 21.75″ tall, by 16.5″ across, by 15 wide. This is a very unusual, minimally worked piece that would please a purveyor of primitives as much as a fan of ballet, or modernism. She definitely exudes joy in her movement, with arms stretched upward in a graceful side arch. Stands about 16 inches high. It is offered as found with natural imperfections dings and crags and a little bit of give where it attaches to the base. The Ballerina has a rich overall patina, she’s 5.5 tall, her base is. The oval wood base measures 3″ x 2 3/8″. She is holding something in her left hand, a flower perhaps.
