Just an absolute stunner folk art carving! Lovely size to this. Just about 19 inches in length. Can be displayed on a tabletop or you can fit a dowel rod into the prepared place if you wish to have it mounted on a stand. Just lovely grain and carving and hand-painted. Note the way the tail is fitted in. What do you call that… Expressive eyes to this wonderful creature. Obviously one of a kind and a wonderful addition to your nautical-themed decor / folk art decor! Truly a lovely showpiece. I only wish I knew who the artist/sculptor was.

Offered here is a beautiful and unique carved wood display of a deep sea articulated octopus by famed bird carving artist Casey Edwards. The technical skill is incredible in this artwork. Ll eight legs freely move up and down. The legs are hollowed out (concave) on the bottom so when the octopus is lowered the legs catch the water and they come up. When the octopus is lifted, the legs go downward, which simulates just how an octopus swims! The legs are reinforced and will not break, and please notice the great carving in the mortise and tenon joints! This octopus is colored in the deep ocean blue creature color, and there is an aged patina that creates an antiquing look, which you can see this best when holding his pieces. This decoy measures 14″ long, and each leg is 7 1/2″ long, and when sprawled out the legs measure 16 across. This is a one of a kind statue that is signed by Casey Edwards. Sculptured horse head, fabulous patina aged and cracked due to exposure to harsh sunlight, remnants of original paint visible, hand carved in teak. Sourced from Jaipur in Rajasthan, these highly decorative Mewar horse heads started life as a matching pair either side of a doorway in a haveli, or merchant’s mansion, circa 1850. Traditionally horse heads were fixed to exterior door posts to ward off evil spirits and offer protection. It has been left in an. Condition and is ready to fit, it has a small fixing bracket attached to the top of the back. 29cm long x 14cm deep x 7cm wide, it weighs 1.00kgs.
