An original and rare collector’s item, perfect for enriching a cellar, a bar corner or a tavern with a decidedly scenographic touch. Carved wooden sculpture depicting a monk with habit and hood. The figure opens vertically like a book, revealing a shaped internal compartment, designed to hide a bottle of wine or liqueur. Rustic and functional design, typical of the peculiar craftsmanship of the mid-twentieth century. Made of solid solid wood, worked in such a way as to bring out the marked and warm natural grains of the material. The opening system is guaranteed by sturdy hinges and a burnished metal lateral hook. Technical Details and Conditions. Retractable bottle holder / Openable sculpture. Solid wood, small metal parts. Base: 13 x 13 cm. Very good vintage condition. The structure is solid and intact, the wood is excellently preserved with a beautiful patina of time. Closing mechanism and hinges are in perfect working order. We would like to point out that in the photo shoot, any white areas are due to the reflection of the artificial lights of the special lights, used to best illuminate the item, which could cause a slight color variation in the photograph.
