Up for sale is a high quality antique 19th century hand carved architectural salvage corbel sculpture. It’s carved completely by hand out of dense wood with elaborate detailing throughout and has acquired a lovely patina from age. The corbel depicts a stunning realistic devil embellished into an intricate scroll design with a fruit draped wreath that also adds to the historic essence of the sculpture. Vintage Wood Devil Demon Diablo Sculpture By Inocencio Vasquez. Please note, there is a strong negative energy with this carving. I felt strong oppression and so did another family member. Not a strategy to sell, it is simply the truth. I reached out to ask if they had any idea, they seemed to be unaware. I’m not sure if it was ever displayed by them. Hand carved and hand painted. Looks great, the artist usually did miniatures, this is huge. Solid wood carving, shows stress marks due to age, it’s normal normal occurrence on wood. 68 inches height (5 ft 8 inches) x 12 inches across. Heavyweight carving, segments come apart. This exceptional carved and painted alebrije depicting a winged and horned demon with TONS of personality dates to the 1970s and stands 16 1/4 tall. As the images convey, the figure is delightful viewed from any angle and the meticulaously painted details are in fine condition. He is an impressive 6 3/4″ deep and measures 8 3/4″ wide (wings); 6″ wide (ears) and 4″ wide (arms). The bottom of one foot is fully signed as shown by one of the more influential creators of alebrijes in modern Mexican art history. It is in very fine condition with minor dust and dirt from display.

This is an unusual vintage wood sculpture of the Devil. It measures approximately 18″ tall by 8″ wide by 7 deep. The sculpture was made with both carving and wood burning. The eyes may be made of seeds attached by metal. I don’t know a lot about it except that it was made quite a while ago and is unique. The Devil definitely has personality!

Vintage CARVED wood FOLK ART Mayan DEVIL MASK from Mexico/ Guatamala Day of Dead. It is hand-carved and hand-painted with some kind of hair for the eyebrows and moustache, and it does have eyeholes so would be fully functional as a mask. Dimensions are 10″ tall x 9″ wide, and it weighs about 1 lb. Condition is very good as shown in the photos with age and a few paint nicks showing but no broken or missing pieces.
