Miniature/mini collectible real wooden decoy of a Drake mallard, carved & painted by George Strunk, of Glendora New Jersey. George is a very well known decoy carver, and hunter, in the tri-state area and all over the country. It has been kept safely put away since being recieved by Mr. Width 2.25 (inches). Height 2.5 (inches from base to top of back). This duck would fit & look great in your home, office, personal space-or near your work bench. The bottom has been signed in Sharpie on bottom of base by artist; & he also used small letter blocks to punch his last name out under signature. It is a stunning piece; George has been featured in many magazines, has won many awards at shows, & was recently featured in a Ducks Unlimited podcast now streaming on YouTube. This is a Very Rare Darkfeather Freedman Wood Duck Drake Decoy Carving in Excellent Condition. It is made with a keel as an actual working decoy but has only been displayed as a fine work of art. Darkfeathers carvings are some of the most sought after carvings with lifelike detailing and design that captures the beauty of nature in wood. This wood duck decoy is carved in cedar and finished in hunter green, beige, antique white, black and various earth tones with detailed carving throughout. This a wonderful hand-carved and painted miniature “Wood Duck Drake” decoy with glass eyes, detailed feather painting and realistic coloration. Created by master Illinois carver, Charles Moore, from De Kalb, Illinois. Moore who carves in the Illinois River style has been carving for over 40 years; this decoy is from early in his carving career. He is also noted for his expert restorations of works of prior greats from his field. The decoy measures 10″ in length, 4″ in width and 4 in height. Marked on the bottom Chas.
