This is a vintage wood carving with an estimated origin of 1970s by the previous owner. The TRIBAL WARRIOR shows very good detail with no major issues to report. The overall condition is EUC excellent used condition. Measures appropriately 6″ in diameter and 18.5″ tall. The piece is not signed.

This is an Original Vintage 1950’s Karl Hagenauer Design African Native Hunter or Warrior Art Deco Sculpture in pristine original condition. This is a Hagenauer design which he reproduced in his Austria studio in slight variations in brass, ebonized and other woods. If you are a Hagenauer collector then you are probably familiar with this design. It is not signed but the history would suggest that it is original. My Aunt was a traveler and collector and acquired two of these as a set in the 1950’s. With her passing in 1980 they went into storage and were recently passed to me. The pair are identical except for minor variations in facial features. The spear and necklace are intact and in perfect condition. Material is black ebonized wood. Please look at the photos and please ask any questions that you might have. The spear is perfect and sturdy but will be packaged in a protective tube for extra protection. This is an antique carving by a very famous Canadian wood carver, by the name of Paul E Caron. The subject matter is in the colonial style, and the subject is a hunter, probably hunting in the North Woods of Canada. Look at the detail of the figure, his facial expressions, and the folds in his clothing. Look at the scale and detail of the hunting rifle he is toting. This carving is 243 mm tall, or 9 5/8 tall. The base is about 3 x 3 inches. The carving is highly detailed, and the artist has captured the face and expressions wonderfully. The artist made his home in St. Jean Port Joli, Quebec, Canada. Vintage painted wood carving of a hunter, his dog, gun and rabbit, circa 1940. Very humorous carving and details such as the nose of the dog, mans face, and rabbits tail. Possible Maine carving, initialed JEN on the back of the base. Measures 11″ wide, 8″ deep, 18 high. Excellent paint, patina and subject matter. Good condition for its age. The clock is approx 20 inches tall not including the pendulum length. The deer & antlers are detachable. There was a small piece of wood glued back on off the leaf from the bottom left side (see last picture). I don’t know how it works but it was working when taken down in grandparents home a couple of years ago.
