Hand Carved Wood Bear Vtg 1988 James Penney Signed Folk Art Sculpture 19 26 Lb. Large hand-carved solid wood bear sculpture signed and dated “James Penney’88” on the front of the base. This substantial folk art carving depicts a walking bear with its head lowered. Deep chisel marks, visible wood grain, and a rich reddish-brown finish give it a bold rustic character. An impressive display piece for a cabin, lodge, office, wildlife collection, or rustic home decor. Measures approximately 18 to 19 inches tall and weighs 26 pounds, 3 ounces. In good vintage condition with scattered surface wear, small marks, finish variation, and other age-related imperfections. No major breaks are visible. Signed and dated directly in the wood.
