An original and rare collector’s item, perfect for enriching a cellar, a bar corner or a tavern with a decidedly scenographic touch. Carved wooden sculpture depicting a monk with habit and hood. The figure opens vertically like a book, revealing a shaped internal compartment, designed to hide a bottle of wine or liqueur. Rustic and functional design, typical of the peculiar craftsmanship of the mid-twentieth century. Made of solid solid wood, worked in such a way as to bring out the marked and warm natural grains of the material. The opening system is guaranteed by sturdy hinges and a burnished metal lateral hook. Technical Details and Conditions. Retractable bottle holder / Openable sculpture. Solid wood, small metal parts. Base: 13 x 13 cm. Very good vintage condition. The structure is solid and intact, the wood is excellently preserved with a beautiful patina of time. Closing mechanism and hinges are in perfect working order.
