Up for sale is an exceptionally large and heavy vintage hand-carved wood wall sculpture depicting a trio of cherubs (putti angels) in the classic European Baroque style. This is a substantial, museum-quality decorative piece carved from a single, dense block of high-quality hardwood. Unlike common small commercial carvings, this piece features incredible depth and three-dimensional presence, projecting 8 inches out from the wall. Sharp tool markings are visible along the outer chiseled edges. Style: Baroque/Renaissance/Traditional Material: Solid natural hardwood with a gorgeous flowing grain pattern running seamlessly through the figures. Most likely solid European Beech wood, identifiable by its signature fine flecked grain pattern and heavy density. Includes a faint, impressed maker’s mark or workshop stamp on the reverse side. Maker’s Mark: Features a faint, authentic impressed workshop/maker’s mark stamped directly into the reverse beech wood surface see photo close-up for details. Dimensions: Measures approximately 15 inches high, 14 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. Weight: Weights a heavy 12 pounds Backing: Features a flat-planed reverse side equipped with a heavy-duty wire hanging loop secured by screws for safe wall mounting. Condition: The sculpture is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful natural matte finish. It shows normal, minor sights of age, including a few small, light surface scuffs on the bottom rim that do not impact display.
