This is an extremely rare vintage ANRI “Kellermeister” wall carving, extremely hard to find, so much that I haven’t found even one that is of this era. Later ones are nowhere near as subtly colored and as perfectly detailed as this. Kellermeister of course translates directly to “cellarmaster” , the implication being winemaking, from the glass shape, but also to “Butler”, although he is not dressed as a butler. The image measures 11-1/4″ x 5-1/4″; the outer dimensions of the frame are 17-1/4″ x 11-1/4″. The frame condition shows age, but the work itself is untouched except for one tiny, tiny area of flaking on the winemaker’s apron (see image). ANTIQUE VINTAGE TAVERN PLAQUE RELIEF PANEL WOOD / RESIN CARVING WINE BAR PUB. No damage, chips ot cracks. Hanging details on the back have been removed as was not used as a wall hanging. Easily reinstated (see images). Really nice detail on this old piece! Ideal in a wine bar, restaurant, pub, or at home! Fair size without being instrusive. Approximately 38 x 28 (cm). Depicts travelling musicians in a tavern environment. There is a lady listening at the door in the background. The relief is deep. High Quality item with some age. Looks like a wood panel carved in relief, but it is probably resin textured to look like wood. Temperature feel (cooler) and back indicates resin. Good heavy weight item and hard to tell by look that its not wood. Unique piece (not mass produced) – research has failed to identify similar. No makers mark also indicates individual piece.
