This rare Shaker donut cutter dates from the mid to late 19th century. The cutter is made of maple with a removable center section that allows for it to alternately be used as a donut or biscuit cutter. The donut cutter exhibits a simple mastery of functional design as only the Shaker brethren seem to have mastered. The cutter is in untouched condition with a simply beautiful deep mellow surface. The condition is wonderful with a deep mellow patina and no cracks or breaks. There are a couple of spots of very very minor wear on the bottom edge from use but noting worth a specific note. The cutter measures app. 3 7/8″ high and it has a diameter of 2 5/8″. If additional photo’s are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them.
