Most likely a custom made piece as this style hall tree with a seat is very unusual. Great decorative elements make it special. Wonderful with the north wind carved crest. Carving throughout includes curli-cues, floral accents, and shell details. Well thought out design with a mirror, hooks for hanging items, a seat to put on / take off your shoes, and a storage area under the seat. It is an extremely versatile piece of furniture. Although the original intention of this item was by the entrance of the house, have seen them used in creative ways: bedroom, large bathroom, etc. Was professionally refinished many years ago. This is an original piece not a later reproduction. It dates from right around 1900. Width is about 42 inches. Depth is about 17 inches. Height is about 91.5 inches. It has an older restoration job on it which is still in good condition. Mirror was either re-silvered or replaced. Some spots in the finish. Wheels were added a long time ago and bolted to the bottom. Some typical non-structural wood splits by the bottom were the umbrella pans had been. Normal and expected wood shrinkage.
