Vintage Early 20th Century Carved Wood Statue Madonna and Child 19 inch Possibly German Origin. Beautiful hand carved large statue from a light wood depicts the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus. Measures 19 1/2 inches height. Base is 5 1/2 inches width. Overall great condition with no restorations. Beautiful grain to the wood. One very small nick to back on lower base (lower left corner) but minimal and does not affect the presentation or beauty of this gorgeous Christian carved statue. A small spot or irregularity in the wood on back fold of gown. It does have some letters and numbers written on the base. Please view the photos.
