A fabulous pair of Vintage hand carved elderly basque county couple Bookends/Busts by Jose Manuel Alberdi, Basque Country 1900 – 1949. He was famous for this style of spanish carvings. Fine details, hand carved walnut wood. These are getting rarer and in lovely condition with deep brown patina developed with age. Alberdi is known for carving in different sizes, these are the larger size which show a lot more detail. 4.25″ by 4.5″ and 8.5 in height. I could have glued it, but safer to let you do it once you receive. For the pictures it was held on with black tape. Note- most pipes are completely missing, rare to have him with his pipe.
