Vintage OUTSIDER FOLK ART “OWL ON TREE STUMP” Wood Sculpture. Hand Carved, Hand Painted, Signed & Dated. 14.25″ high x 7.5″ wide at base. Owl itself is 7″ high x 8″ long from tail to front. Marvelous likeness of an Eastern Screech owl, and life sized. Excellent vintage condition, no damage- no scratches, chips, nicks, fading. Solid and very heavy hardwood. Completely hand made outsider/folk art piece hand carved and hand painted, with hand inset glass eyes. Screech Owl is securely attached to a real log, with bark and lichen still attached. Signed by artist RH 96 burned into base. Amazing expression and tiny detailing [both carved and painted] on feathers. Has metal feet with large curved talons.
