Got a few good laughs outta the crowd. I was told she got moved around the house 4-5 times over the years. And somehow ended up in the basement LMAO?? Joe’s wife said they picked it up many years ago while traveling out in Arizona buyin. Of course Joe later saw it at a sale and had to have it?? I’m sure he was real proud hahaha???? Honestly I think half the crowd was just waiting to see. Who was gonna take the carved lady home. With a little fight back and fourth from a few others. After I bought it, a couple family members came over and said. “Dad / Joe would be proud you bought it Brock”?????? Man. I can hear Joe’s big jolly laugh right now?????? But jokes aside. This is a GOOD one! Right at 29 3/4 tall, carved from a solid block of dense tropical hardwood. Heavy and well done. You can feel the quality the second you pick her up. I’d put her in that 1960s era, likely a Balinese / Indonesian studio carving. You can still see the hand work… Someone spent real time on this piece and it shows! The flow in the hair, the soft expression, the stance. Just clean craftsmanship???? 6″ x 5″ base. As always. THANKS FOR LOOKING?? Old school service, packed right, no shortcuts.
