The figure is seated in a meditative pose on a lotus pedestal, featuring intricate openwork carving in the halo behind the head made from solid wood covered with a dark lacquer and white coating over the face and skin to provide contrast. The back arc and Buddha are removable and the Buddha can rotate in the seated position as pictured. In good pre owned condition there is lacquer loss and spotting present in some areas consistent with the age and material type.
