This piece is exceptionally well-crafted, exhibiting the classic minimalist form, prominent stylized ears, and signature resting arm pose characteristic of the region. It features brilliant, fully intact almond-shaped inlaid shell eyes that contrast beautifully against the deep, rich tropical hardwood. The figure has an excellent, substantial physical presence-standing 6 inches tall and weighing a solid 9.8 ounces, highlighting the dense quality of the slow-growth ironwood/hardwood used by the master carver.
