This an old beautifully carved wooden statue of Chinese man and tiger. I do not know the wood but it could be Rosewood or even camphor. Anyone have an idea??? I believe this was brought back by my Uncle possibly from Northern Africa in the 40’s. Don’t know if it was new or maybe an old Chinese piece that could be much older. 9 1/4″ tall X 8″ wide X 5 1/2 Deep. The base is about 9 1/2″ wide X 7″ wide and stands 1 1/2 tall. There is a few wood chips on the bottom near foot. The base has a sliver-chip on bottom (see photo) about 3 1/2 long. The tiger (I think it is a tiger) is missing one eye and I think other front bottom tooth. There some surface age cracks (hard to see with dark color)… And one small split by paw of tiger on front bottom about 1/2″ and maybe 1/8th ” wide by paw.
