Ll eight legs freely move up and down. The legs are hollowed out (concave) on the bottom so when the octopus is lowered the legs catch the water and they come up. When the octopus is lifted, the legs go downward, which simulates just how an octopus swims! The legs are reinforced and will not break, and please notice the great carving in the mortise and tenon joints! This octopus is colored in the deep ocean blue creature color, and there is an aged patina that creates an antiquing look, which you can see this best when holding his pieces. This decoy measures 14″ long, and each leg is 7 1/2″ long, and when sprawled out the legs measure 16 across. This is a one of a kind statue that is signed by Casey Edwards.
