UPDATE: Found bottom moulding and have added it back. The carving is based off of a freemason drawing of the same figure done in the 1700s in Massachusetts titled “A Free Mason Composed of the Materials of his Lodge” by J. A large finely carved figure of a man made entirely of masonic symbols Head is the sun. Legs are pillars under apron. Just incredible work here. Fantastic piece of folk art masonic or not. Signed’BOYCE’ en verso. Condition: There are some missing adornments from bottom and corners. I have two pieces that go on the bottom corners. Doesn’t really detract from the piece itself.
