Beautiful carved and polychromed wooden statue of the Madonna and Child. A very large piece at almost 18 tall. Guranteed 100% carved wood and not any type of a molded piece and not any lesser process or material and check out the detail pics and know that you won’t be disappointed. Clearly European based on the materials and the aesthetic and I think most likely German, but possibly Italian. Quality of the workmanship is very fine as I hope the pics show. No signatures or markings, probably dates ca. The early post WW2 era, about 1950 – 1975. Comes from a local Dallas estate. There are 2 small age cracks in back as shown in pics #9 and #10. There is minor wear to the paint near the bottom as shown in pics #11 and #12. No missing bits and no repairs. Stands nicely on the tabletop, not crooked and not wobbly.
