From the African country of Tanzania. Hand Carved Dark Wood (Ebony or Teak). Abstract Makonde Shetani Sculpture. Depicts abstract faces, animal bodies, and a snake. “ILAU” is carved at the outside rim of the base. Carved from one piece of wood. Measures approximately: 13″ wide x 11″ deep x 19″ tall, and the base is 8″ wide x 7 deep. Gently used vintage condition. This has been a display piece and has some natural wood imperfections and variations. The base is rustic. The piece weighs about 12 pounds. Please see the detailed photos.
