This stylized vintage wood sculpture is circa 1982. The wood used is Osage Orange, the base is Black Walnut. With the passage of time it is not uncommon for minor blemishes such as minor fissures (checks), slight darkening of the wood and other minor changes to appear on the surface of a wood sculpture or carving due to natural aging. Wood is after all a living thing. However, that does not take away from the visual impact and energy of the piece. The height of the figure is 16″, the width is (hip to hip) 7-1/2″ and the profile thickness at it’s widest point is 5-1/4. The base is 8-1/2″ x 7″ x 2-1/4. When it was finished I applied two coats of Danish natural oil to the figure and to the base.
