Vintage Folk Art Wood carving blind man playing zither German war wounded
Really neat unusual subject folk art carving Blind man playing a zither. His left arm has an armband with 3 dots, that signifies him being blind. There’s writing on the bottom, can’t make much out, looks German the word jubile? And possibly 1951, can’t make out the rest. (Patina looks older but it might be right) I was told by the collection owner he believed this was carved by a wwii German veteran at one of the homes for wounded veterans and they used other patients as subjects. Feel free to let me know what you think. I have more carvings coming up from this collection that will be added this week. He had some great stuff!
