ANTIQUE WALNUT MARBLE TOP PARLOR/LAMP TABLE WITH DOG CARVING. This is a late Victorian (circa 1890) marble top parlor or lamp table. It is made of walnut and the shape of the top veined marble is normally called a turtle top table. Especially interesting is that the stretcher has a carved dog on it. We have had a couple others with dogs on the stretcher but this table is larger and of higher quality than most. This is truly a graceful Victorian period lamp or parlor table. It has a “turtle” shaped marble top and sculpture of a dog on the lower shelf. Hand carved of solid walnut. The curved legs are nicely detailed. The finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Ready to serve another generation, the frame is strong and tight. The marble has minor stains and has been polished and given a protective finish. Note the beveled carved legs on wheels and the carved skirt on each side. This is in very good original condition as you can see from the photos. Overall size of the table is 37 long, 24 deep, and 28 high. PLEASE NOTE: Almost all the items we sell are vintage in nature.
