For your consideration is a Marples Vintage Set of 10 Wood Carving Chisels Sharpened Good Condition. Each Chisel handle is marked Marples. No identifying marks on steel that I can find so I will measure each on with sweep so you know what each wood carving chisel is included. There were from an estate sale and these were burried way back in the back. The description on each chisel is as follows. 1/4 inch, no 9 sweep deep gouge, 2. 3/16 inch No 26 sweep short bent Gouge, 3. 1/8 inch, No 7 sweep Medium Gouge, 4. 5/8 No 6 sweep shallow gouge, 5. 1/2″ No 6 sweep shallow gouge, 6 3/8 inch No 7 Medium gouge, 7, 1/4″ No 14 sweep long bent shallow gouge, 8. 1/2″ No 5 sweep shallow gouge, 9 5/8″ No 5/8 No 8 Medium Gouge, and 10. 1/2 No 10 Deep Gouge. I’ve measured these from a copy of the Sheffield list of Shapes and Profiles. The blade could use a little cleaning being they have discolored from age. A few handles have a mark from poor storage rubbing against one another. I have restained all the handles and being dark barely show any imprefection.
