Beautiful Balinese wood sculpture that stands approximately 16.5 inches tall. It is signed at the bottom (see photos). I’m not sure if the right arm was repaired at some point in time or that was how it was made (see photo).

The Pelican’s head is uniquely comprised of 3 separate carved parts. The neck and head, 2. The upper portion of the beak (dark wood), and 3. The lower part of beak (light colored wood). Signed and dated by the artist Duesler.
It has an applied plaque that says Royal Copenhagen sculptor and is numbered 332/2500. Sterett-Gittings Kelsey was born in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1941, and was graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a B. In Sculpture in 1964.
