Modernist carved wood bust of Mexican woman by noted artist Jose Pinal (1913- 1983) This figure is my personal favorite. This example is in very fine, original condition, fully and correctly marked. Some typical wear, please see all the images. Jose Pinal was often called “The Mexican Picasso”. 13″ H and 6″ base diameter.
Heifetz carved wood female sculpture with prominent textural grain. Satin black enamel finish. Shows signs of age. There are nicks and paint touch-up areas, also natural wood separation. Most likely it was originally a lamp, there are 2 filled in holes at the bottom of the back. At the top, her handing is holding her elbow.
