Fantastic mexican animalitos wood carved cow animal. It is a geat addition to any Mexican folk art alebrije collection. My best guess is that it’s from the 1960s or 1970s. Size: 9″L x 4.5″H x 3.25W. In the 1940’s Manuel Jimenez founded the Mexican Folk Art of Oaxacan animal wood carvings carved from Copal wood. By the late 1960’s due to growing tourist demand for the whimsical animals Craft Marketers encouraged other men in neighboring villages to carve them.
